Lichen sclerosis et atrophicus symptoms may mimic the symptoms of venereal wart or genital wart viruses.
The exact cause of the disease is not known. Since the condition appears to be painful due to vulva damage, it is recommended to use steroids for relief. The condition is chronic and tends to appear further in life. Support groups may help patients handle the situation.

Also referred to as LS, the condition affects vulva in women and sometimes penis in men. The clinical picture of the disease is characterized by white patches on the skin and itching. These patches may grow, yet never spread to vagina. Lichen sclerosis et atrophicus symptoms may mimic the symptoms of venereal wart or genital wart viruses.
